Privacy & Cookies
Like many websites on the internet, we use cookies. We want our website to be informative, personal, and as user friendly as possible and cookies help us to achieve that goal. The information we collect may include data such as the type of browser being used, and the pages visited, and is used to improve the content and/or layout of our website. You may, at any time, prevent the setting of cookies through our website through your internet browser, and may thus permanently deny the setting of cookies. Furthermore, already set cookies may be deleted at any time via an internet browser or other software programs. This is possible in all popular internet browsers. If you deactivate the setting of cookies in the internet browser used, not all functions of our website may be entirely usable.
To enrich our website content, sometimes we may embed content from other social media websites such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook or Vimeo. As a result, when you visit a page with content embedded, you may be presented with cookies from these websites. Actors Edits has no control or liability over these cookies set, so you should check the relevant third party’s cookie and privacy policy for more information.
If you make an enquiry though our web form, only the information you provide, including your name, email and details of your enquiry will be sent to Actors Edits solely for the purpose of dealing with your enquiry. Your personal information will not be shared with a third party.
Contracts with clients
Sometimes in order to conclude a contract with a client it may be necessary that the client provides us with personal data, which must subsequently be processed by us. The client, for example, is obliged to provide us with personal data when our company signs a contract with him or her and without this personal information, we would not be able to complete the contract.
As a client, you may not transfer any of your rights under this privacy notice to any other person. We may transfer our rights under this privacy notice where we reasonably believe your rights will not be affected.
If any court or competent authority finds that any provision of this privacy notice (or part of any provision) is invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision or part-provision will, to the extent required, be deemed to be deleted, and the validity and enforceability of the other provisions of this privacy notice will not be affected.
Unless otherwise agreed no delay, act or omission by a party in exercising any right or remedy will be deemed a waiver of that, or any other, right or remedy.
This notice will be governed by and interpreted according to the law of England and Wales. All disputes arising under the notice will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.

Like many organisations, Actors Edits is active on social media. Our activity includes following, posting and sharing information on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Users should review the Privacy Policy statements of such platforms.

Security of data
Actors Edits has implemented technical and organisational measures to ensure personal data processed remains secure. However, absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Should you have a particular concern about a particular method of data transmission, we will take reasonable steps to provide an alternative method.

Personal data retention periods
We will retain your personal data in line with the statutory retention period within the UK. After the expiration of that period, personal data shall be securely deleted, as long as it is no longer necessary for the fulfilment of the contract, the initiation of a contract, or in relation to other legal proceedings.
This notice was last updated on 11/12/18. We may change this policy by updating this page to reflect changes in the law or our privacy practices. However, we will not use your Personal Data in any new ways without your consent.
Copyright Clearance for material used in showreels
Copyright is an automatic international right that gives the creators of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the right to control the ways in which their material may be used. We request that all clients clear copyright of any material provided to be edited into their showreel – in most cases the producers of that work will either have rights assigned to them, or at least a licence to the rights. Producers normally grant permission for you to use short clips completely free of charge – but you must check with them first and get their permission in writing. There may also be exceptions allowing you to use material under fair dealing, but if in doubt, ask for permission.
As the controller, Actors Edits has implemented technical and organisational measures to ensure personal data processed remains secure. However, absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Should a data subject have a particular concern about a particular method of data transmission, we will take reasonable steps to provide an alternative method.
